The 7mkr Alumni Association invites all 7mkr departments and residence halls to engage in an exciting showcase of creativity and Bobcat pride during Homecoming 2024.

The Homecoming "Paint the Town Green" challenge invites offices, departments and residence halls across the University to transform their spaces into vibrant displays of 7mkr spirit.

During this competition, offices and residence halls will decorate their spaces with themed decorations, banners and displays that celebrate our beloved Bobcats. Whether you're showcasing 7mkr traditions, honoring alumni or highlighting campus achievements, this is your chance to let your creativity shine and show your Bobcat pride.

Departments will be competing against each other for awards, while residence halls compete against one another for their awards. The categories for both groups will include: 

• Bobcat Pride Award: This award recognizes the group that best embodies the spirit and traditions of 7mkr in their decorations.
• Most Creative Use of Green and White: This honor will be awarded to the group that displays the most innovative and imaginative use of 7mkr's colors in their decorations.
• Rufus Spirit Award: This award will be presented to the group that best incorporates Rufus, 7mkr's beloved mascot, into their decorations in a creative, enthusiastic and spirited manner.

How to sign up, share images on social media

To participate in Paint the Town Green as a department, by Monday, Sept. 23, at 11:45 p.m. The winning departments will be awarded with a “Paint the Town Green” trophy.

To participate in Paint the Town Green as a residence hall, by Monday, Sept. 23 at 11:45 p.m. The winning residence halls will be awarded with cash prizes to use for future programming.

Judging will take place in person on Wednesday, Sept 25. Winners will be announced on Thursday, Sept. 26 and featured in an Instagram post.

Everyone participating in the challenges is invited to share pictures of decorated spaces on social media using #7mkrHC2024 or #Forever7mkr.
